New President to Take Reigns of Sega
Long-time Sega president and COO Naoya Tsurumi has been bumped up to Vice Chairman of the Board, and that means Sega Corporation has a new man in charge: Hideki Okamura.
Documents released by the company last week reveal that Okamura, newly elected via the Sega Sammy board, will assume his position on April 1st. Okamura has been with the company since the 90s, with a background in marketing. Tsurumi, who pulled double duty as Sega head and Director for the whole of Sega Sammy Holdings, will remain with the company as Senior Managing Director and Representative Director.
Sega Sammy recently revised earnings downward for FY2014, citing sluggishness not in Consumer Business, but in the amusement division.
