Five Sega Games Canceled or Delayed
First, Baldur’s Gate, considered former COO Bernie Stolar’s top priority, has officially been canned for Dreamcast, and there’s no word on whether someone else will pick it up. Next, Climax’s horror survival title Illbleed will no longer be published by Sega of America. However, Sega is helping Climax out to find a third party publisher. And Messiah, developer Shiny’s action title, has been put on an indefinite hold, and could potentially not be released at all for the DC by Interplay. And Ubi Soft has canned development on the DC game The Road to El Dorado.
But here’s the biggie: Codemasters will no longer be supporting the Dreamcast, and all titles developed for the console have been scrapped, including the much anticipated racer Colin McRae Rally 2.0. According to Codemasters, “we continue to optimize resources by focusing teams on appropriate platforms.”
