First DC SegaNet Game Nearly Ready
GOD and Tremor Entertainment’s Railroad Tycoon II will be heading to the Dreamcast as early as later this month. The PC title was a hit, and the Dreamcast version should be even better. From Gaming Age:
Featuring all of the immersive and addictive gameplay of the PC version, Railroad Tycoon II has a host of new enhancements including a full 3D game engine, VMU support and a streamlined interface and financial structure. In addition, virtual entrepreneurs will be able to test their prowess against other robber barons with the online multiplayer mode, which uses the Sega.com network. Players move more than 40 cargo types using over 60 different train engines from around the world and establish transportation empires while outmaneuvering competitors. Over 70 scenarios and 67 levels are included, combining everything from Railroad Tycoon II and the Second Century expansion pack, plus new scenarios designed exclusively for the Sega Dreamcast version. Gameplay spans the industrial age from 1804 to beyond 2000, allowing for worldwide exploration and expansion, while a stock market for Wall Street plunderers tests players’ entrepreneurial prowess.
