E3 2000: Sega Sports Briefs
Sega has several sports titles on hand at the big show, here are quick notes from a few of them:
- Virtua Tennis: So far, the game is looking good and so is the control. Graphically, details are startling. This beta version features players choosing a tennis pro, then selecting a tournament.
- More NFL 2K1: Gameplay is smooth and graphics are only slightly upgraded. Of course, consider that the original NFL2K had beautiful graphics! The running game is better as well. As for network play, well…that’s been undetermined. Blame the ‘Net being busted…
- World Series Baseball 2K1: It’s back…this incarnation is a mix between simulation and arcade gameplay. Graphically, we’ve been hearing good things about MLB2K1, including realistic grass. This is only a beta, so progress should be very nice.
