E3 2000: More Samba / PSO Impressions
Both from SegaWeb, we start with the maraca shakin’ title:
Samba de Amigo was on hand and attracted a fair amount of attention. The good news is that Sega does intend to bring the maracas to the rest of the world, but the price point is still unknown. We only had the Japanese version present, but a fun time was had by all. A Sega representative did say that Sega intends to keep the price down. If Sega can get the all-important peripheral over here along with the game for under $100 without sacrificing quality than we can die happy men.
It’s going to be tough to keep the DC maracas down in price…but we can worry about that later; here’s PSO:
Phantasy Star Online was on display in video form only. No PSO play make us sad. On the bright side, the title looks totally luscious. If this level of graphics can be maintained along with Sega’s big plans for massive multiplayer, they’ve got a 100% chance of success.
Now that the show is over, it’s time to salivate over these future releases until at least the Tokyo Game Show in the Fall.
