Crazy Taxi Coming to PS2
Sad news today–Acclaim entertainment has the publishing rights to bring Crazy Taxi, the wildly fun Dreamcast title, on to the PlayStation 2 in time for the Holidays next year. Says SegaDojo:
After signing the rights to publish AM2’s F355 Challenge, Sega granted Acclaim to publish three other arcade titles, of which they chose 18-Wheeler: American Pro Trucker, Zombie Revenge, and yes, Crazy Taxi. According to Computer And Video Games, only Crazy Taxi is poised to see release on the PS2, but it’s planned for a Christmas 2001 release.
Many fans are giving Sega and Acclaim harsh criticism due to this move, with the notion that many people are going to face buying a classic DC version and buying a newer PS2 version, despite any flaws it may have, and go for PS2. We’ll continue to follow the situation.
