CCR Shockwave: First Impressions
Well, I finally was able to head to Sega of Japan’s website and play Chu Chu Rocket online for myself. The game starts you off with 25 levels, and going from 1 on up is recommended. The cats don’t pop up for a while if you do that method, and this will give you some time to get used to the controls.
Here’s the basic format: You place arrow blocks on the playfield, and you then let the mice go and see if they can find the rocket launcher. When all are in there, the rocket takes off (a really neat effect!), and you can proceed to the next level. Be careful, though–if the cat gets a mouse, or goes into the rocket launcher, you have to restart.
I have one gripe for this-I wish it weren’t so easy. I hope this doesn’t tell the difficulty of the game itself. Still, as it stands, this is great practice for the real thing next month.
