
CCR Europe Promotion Underway
With Euro 2000 underway, Sega of Europe has a trick up their sleeve. Ad campaigns designed to get European rivals very angry at each other are starting to pop up. In the ads, nations appear in a stereotypical way, challenging the others to compete online via the Dreamcast. In the UK, Sega will be airing ads with England, and targeting the France vs. Holland game…in a humorous manner, of course. These ads will air during the Euro 2000 games.
The cost? Around £5 million ($7.5 million). With this ad campaign, CCR in European stores, and a price drop on the console itself, we will see if this campaign to push the Dreamcast online aspects works.
