ASR Transformed Rises in UK Post-Christmas Sales
There was a bit of somewhat surprising and good news for Sonic and Sega fans when the GFK Chart Track released the latest UK sales data from last week: Even with Christmas long past, the data still showed Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed rising in the multiplatform top 40.
ASR Transformed jumped four places this week to 12th overall, even beating Sega’s Football Manager ’13, a very strong series in Europe, for the week. In fact, the last two major Sonic releases behind ASRT were also up in the latest charts. Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games jumped three places versus last week to 23rd, and Sonic Generations jumped up two places to 30th.
Individually, ASR Transformed moved up to 12th on XBOX 360, up to 7th on PlayStation 3, moved up to 7th on PlayStation Vita, and maintained its 4th place spot on Wii U.
With this in mind, it may be worth it to watch both the official and unofficial data for another week or so. If ASR Transformed can keep its legs, it might be a great bridge for Sega to travel on the way to its next major release, Aliens: Colonial Marines.
