AAMA, AMOA to Appeal Indianapolis Law
We reported to you a couple weeks back the most comprehensive information available about the US city of Indianapolis passing a law that would seriously restrict viewing of so-called violent video games to those under 18. Now, according to FGN Online, several arcade operators are trying to stop the law from going into effect just a week prior:
A couple of arcade operators have now appealed that the law violates First Amendment constitutional rights, hoping that the law, due to come into effect Sept. 1 will be suspended. The American Amusement Machine Association and the Amusement and Music Operators Association claim that they support Indianapolis’ stance on juvenile violence but are obviously concerned about the implications of the new law on the arcade industry.
If we get any new information on this, we’ll pass it along to you.
