Fan Fridays: Sonic '06 Remixes
No matter your thoughts on Sonic ’06, you have to admit that its soundtrack is pretty darn good. Of course, that lays the groundwork for the fan community to take the original work and make some solid remixes of their own, and that’s exactly what we’re featuring this week. We’ve collected three remixes for your listening pleasure: a pounding Crisis City remix by GlitchxCity, an energetic and trap-percussion-based Aquatic Base remix by Nekkosu, and a fun remix by Dizcrybe that takes short quotes from the game and works them in on top of an instrumental track – it’s actually a lot catchier than it sounds. It also features clips from a glitch video by our own Ryan Bloom, so there’s that, too.
You can check out each user’s YouTube page to listen to more of their work. We’re always on the lookout for fan works to spotlight, so if you have a project you want the world to know about, send us a link at fansonfriday@tssznews.com!
I feel like there aren’t as many ’06 remixes out there as there could be. It’s kind of a shame. But these three really are amazing!
Sonic 06 is a terrible game in so many ways. But there’s one part of it that is actually genuinely good: the soundtrack. Glad to see it getting the attention it deserves 🙂
I remember when the rock bottom one was featured on the Sonic Stadium a few years ago when that hurricane hit the U.S. I’m glad to see it made its way here.
Rock Bottom?
Not related…but seems like Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will get 7.8 from IGN.
These were great, Sonic ’06 honestly has some of my favorite music in the series so these remixes make me very happy. Speaking of ’06 remixes, for those of you not following the upcoming Sonic Misadventures fan project, here’s a Dreams of an Absolution remix.
