Moving On Up, Moving On Out

The time has come (the walrus said) to think of other things, but I’ve come to take little stock in the whims of a walrus so when he suggested with our hosting expiring that we stayed where we were I laughed and called him a sissy.

I also made fun of his wife and his son who will never amount to anything.

As fun as its been on Startlogic I am paying through the nose for the pleasure of their unlimited hosting, unlimited data transfer, “oh-by-the-way don’t have videos or music or images or anything that might actually call upon that data transfer/hosting” service. So we’re packing up our bag of tricks and we’re heading off, we’re going to Disneyland! WOO!

I’d much rather the monies go to a friend of ours so Sonic Wrecks is officially joining the other half of the Depository and the old KevsKingdom.com domain on SEGA Media (the former Fastfeet Media) as well as Radio SEGA. We’re not joining their network although we have been offered that on a couple of occasions. Personally I think SW serves the community better as an independant (the only ones we’d ever merge with would be Emerald Coast).

So over the next few days we’ll be moving Sonic Wrecks over. All the files are already set up on our new home we just need WordPress and its database sorted. I’ve taken backups of both E-On and SW, there is a chance E-On could be closed down for a few days eventually until it can be reinstalled. There’s a chance we may take the opportunity to move away from PHPBB to VBulletin but I’ll have to discuss that with Blake Draco.

Anyway myself and Fastfeet are working on there being no decernable loss of service so look forward to the future!

  1. Well, the very best of luck with the move guys. I hope it all goes well and that it means less hassle in the long run.

Fingers crossed it all goes well!
