Update on Indianapolis Violent Game Restrictions
A while ago, the Sonic Scene brought to you the most complete information available on the initiative by the city of Indianpolis to seriously restrict the playing of so-called violent arcade games city-wide.
Now, Elliot Portney, a legal attorney of AAMA and AAOA, has gone on record claiming that it will do nothing to stop the trend of youths committing violent acts in the city.
Furthermore, Portney says the arcade industry, which includes Sega, could sue the city because of the law.
All this as several medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, have done studies which claim video games enhance aggressive thoughts, and up heart rate and blood pressure. Stay with the Sonic Scene as this could very easily become a key issue in the United States election, especially with the Gore/Lieberman ticket.
