The studio was founded in 2016 by former Lionhead Studios employees, with two notable alums, Gary Carr and Mark Webley, were also part of Theme Hospital developer Bullfrog Productions.
The acquisition comes as Sega’s parent company, Sega Sammy Holdings, is on the record in their yearly earnings report claiming the entity will scale back on its digital releases, after a number of factors resulted in a $17 million loss last fiscal year from the digital side. Packaged, or physical games, turned a profit.
