The News, Reviewed: January 23-30

Yes, it’s Tuesday, but we’ve had another busy week here at TSSZ.

Monday

• We began the week with information on a new studio Sega seemed to be creating. Creative research by the community once again revealed more information: the studio’s name, Hardlight
• Sonic CD‘s success was confirmed when it was revealed to be the top selling game on PSN during December
• In a somewhat peculiar tease, Jun Senoue showed us a peak at lyrics for upcoming Crush 40 songs. The lyrics were reminiscent of the Sonic Adventure-era music. Could Sonic Adventure 3 soon be a reality? Update: no … for now.

Tuesday

• We had a look at a Archie Comic’s new Sonic Super Special Magazine #2, which has over a 100 pages. 
• Screwattack.com think the next episode of Sonic 4 will come in the summer, at least according to the upcoming comics
• First 4 Figures revealed a new addition to their premium line of statues: Classic Tails, which was available for pre-order from Tuesday. The statue is $179.99

Wednesday

• We had a first look at the mid-spring release of Sonic Comics, with Robotnik terrorising Sonic after the Freedom Fighter’s demise. Will Sonic let that stand?
• The Hardlight studio was confirmed by Sega
• Sonic 4: Episode 1 became available on Android, despite a privacy risk for its users
• In an on-going battle, the CEO of Archie Comics was issued a restraining order

Thursday

• A new Sonic and Mario 3DS trailer was revealed
• Tracey Yardley was confirmed to be appearing at the Atlanta South Comic Con on Sunday
• SonicTweaker was confirmed to no longer be a part of the Sonic Retro staff

Friday

• The latest edition of TSSZ Fan Fridays went up, with another great community feature by Louis Balzani
• Sega confirmed a delay for Aliens: Colonial Marines
• Mario and Sonic at the 2012 Olympic Games had a demo for the 3DS released this week
• Another Concept Art Friday as we continue to build up to Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II
• The long-awaited Sonic Megamix was confirmed to be very much in the works
• The Archie Comics vs Penders trial was confirmed to be delayed “indefinitely”
