Taxman on Board for Freedom Planet 2 Development

Consider it a small Christmas miracle: Though it’s not the remastered Sonic 3 & Knuckles much of the community wanted, Christian Whitehead, known to fans as Taxman, he will again be part of a commercial game project–this time from another prominent franchise with roots in Sonic fandom.

Today, GalaxyTrail announced Freedom Planet 2. At minimum, it will be available for PC, Steam, and Linux platforms via Steam. But because FP2 is being developed by Whitehead under the Unity engine, don’t be surprised to see additional platforms announced down the road. Lilac, Carol, and Milla will return as playable in the sequel with updated character designs, along with a host of other new heroes.

Also of note: Falk, best known as behind some of the original music of Sonic Before the Sequel and Sonic After the Sequel, is on board for Freedom Planet 2. His official title on the FP2 site is musician, and though he composed the game’s reveal trailer music, it appears he will mostly serve as a consultant, overseeing the soundtrack mastering.
