Space Channel 5’s Ulala Celebrates Her Birthday

Intergalactic birthday greetings go out today to Space Channel 5’s flagship mascot Ulala, who was first set into motion 20 years ago today.

The current team behind the upcoming Space Channel 5 VR celebrated the space reporter’s first slick moves in a Tweet early Thursday, showing off the first motion capture of Ulala from May 30, 1999.

Truth is, Ulala is forever young – at least relative to the rest of us. Her official birthday in Space Channel 5 lore is on May 30th, but in the year 2477. So today, she is negative 458 years old. Let’s just say the physics of time and space allow us to enjoy her swingin’ reporting skills today.
