Sony PlayStation US Head Tretton to Step Down
It’s not just Sega seeing turnover as companies’ fiscal years end. Jack Tretton, the head of Sony Computer Entertainment America, will end his nearly 20 year tenure with Sony at the end of the month, Sony announced today.
Tretton came on board Sony when SCEA first formed in 1995. He helped launch the original PlayStation and subsequent PlayStation models, and serves as the head of the US PlayStation division. News of Tretton’s departure comes after earlier reports this week that the PlayStation 4 has crossed 6 million sold worldwide. The above press release notes the decision was mutually agreed upon.
Shawn Layden will assume Tretton’s position on April 1st.
