Sonic Movie Release Date Moved To November 8th, 2019

1. We usually say delays are a good thing for the finished product, but I think this is the first time a Sonic product has had it’s release date moved up.

   I’m not sure how to feel about this…

   1. I am feeling very pessimistic now upon this news. It comes across as if they have little confidence in this movie and want it to remain low profile at this point given the problems they are having. It seems like they do not want to compete with Wreck-It Ralph 2 and they probably feel the Thanksgiving holiday weekend will bring little in the way of a boost for box office sales.

      1. EDIT: I totally spaced it. I know it is 2019, and I know Wreck-It Ralph is this year, not next. Even so, my Thanksgiving logic still stands.

2. I mean it’s just one measly week, whether it’s good or bad it won’t really affect it’s overall quality by any measurable margin. If it was a whole MONTH earlier, then I would have raised an eyebrow.

   1. I would have to disagree. Most movie companies go all in for a release date as close to Thanksgiving as possible given the massively increased profits potential during that holiday. Pushing a movie away from a significant date means sharply dropped sales since movie relevancy and public interest always drops sharply within a week following release.

3. I believe they are moving it up to get some breathing room from Frozen 2(Nov 27).
