Sonic Jump Performing Well in iOS Sales
Sonic Jump on iOS has now had a day to permeate the hearts, minds, and phones of millions who have access to the App Store. So far, those at Sega and Hardlight have good reason to jump for joy.
As of this article’s publication, tipster AugieD tells us on Twitter that Jump is now 8th in the top paid apps for iPad. We’ve also learned the game is still climbing and is now14thon the iPhone’s top paid apps. The game is rating well with users, too, with 127 ratings averaging four and a half stars.
But Jump isn’t quite making the crazy money that Sega’s re-released Crazy Taxi did in its first 24 hours. You may remember that game peaked 3rd on iPad and 7th on iPhone. It’s difficult to tell whether we’ve reached the peak yet, but we’ll watch for any more momentum.
Jump also isn’t doing so well in a category Sega likely hopes it would: Top grossing titles, read: in-app purchases included. In that category, Jump is only 79th on iPhone, and 114th on iPad, AugieD tells us. By the way, the unlock everything upgrade is only the fourth most popular item being purchased in-game so far.
When we know the peak, we’ll let you know.
