Sonic HQ Goes Offline, Returns
Andy Wolan E-Mailed me saying that SSRG had no downtime during the Sonic HQ blackout. It looks like my ISP was playing tricks on me. In any case, everything is fine right now; hopefully things will stay that way.
12:30 PM EST: Here is the current situation: Sonic HQ News has returned to the Web, I was able to access it at around 11:30 this morning. As you know, SHQ was down for at least a time, possibly as long as overnight last night. Andy Wolan E-Mailed me explaining why this might have happened:
Emulation World moved their web servers to a new ISP. In the process of the move, the FTP/EMAIL “box” was not setup properly and is not in operation. I suspect that the files for SonicHQ.org was on that “box”. Once it goes back in service, Sonic HQ should be back in operation. I highly doubt anything was lost, else it would be a big black eye for Emulation World if they did.
The Sonic Scene believes that not only was Sonic HQ lost for a time, but the SSRG might have not have been accessible as well. I’ll be back later on with some reaction.
ORIGINAL STORY 6/27: Right now, at 10:30 EST, all you get when visiting Sonic Headquarters is a 404 error page. Anywhere you go, the same occurs. We have no idea why this is happening, but we will be updating tomorrow morning with any developments in this.
