Sonic 4: Episode 2 Will Be Released In 2012

Good news for all those who were left wanting more of Sonic 4 and have yet to hear anything, bad news well you’ll have to wait until 2012.

“This year, 2011, is the anniversary, so we’re focusing on the celebration title.” Iikuza told Eurogamer, “But moving forward to 2012, Sonic will still be going, so I’d hope to provide Episode 2 then.”

According to Iizuka it was SEGA’s intention to focus on Generations and the 20th Anniversary before releasing the next episode, which explains the long wait.

“It was always the plan.” said Iizuka, “We knew about the anniversary year, and Generations was planned way in advance. It was always our plan to release Episode 2 after Generations.”

When asked if the wait between Episode 2 and Episode 3 would be as long as this one.

“We can’t say if there’s going to be Episode 3 or not.”
