Special Statement: What’s Wrong with TSSZ+?
As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve cancelled a lot of scheduled streams on TSSZ+ over the past few weeks. We put a lot of love and effort into the streams we broadcast for all of you, and it’s not our style to overpromise and underdeliver on that front. TSSZ+ is my baby, and as the staffer responsible for its growth and development, I’m disappointed that I’ve failed to deliver the consistency you’ve all asked for. With that in mind, here’s an honest explanation for why the schedule’s been so flaky lately and how we’re going to address it.
The primary reason for the lack of programming is, simply put, I haven’t had time for it. As some of you may know, I work as a mainframe support guru for a very large tech company with Fortune 100-level enterprise clients; that role is demanding to say the least, and over the past few months, it has consumed more of my weekends and downtime during the week – I worked straight through the night this past Friday and Sunday, for example. Client emergencies can require my attention at pretty much any point in time, so what looks like a free Wednesday night can turn into an extra few hours in the office at a moment’s notice, and it’s a pretty high-stress position. Combine that with my PC’s ongoing technical issues – don’t update Windows 10, kids – and you’ve got a recipe for inconsistency. We make every effort to create content on a regular and reliable basis for you all, but the fact of the matter is that sometimes, the “real world” gets in the way; despite my best efforts, I don’t always have the availability and free time to tend to what exists outside of my job and personal life.
“Lou’s really busy” is a pretty lame excuse, though, so what are we actually doing to right the ship? As you’ve told us in feedback surveys over the years, a more consistent schedule is key for staying engaged with our content, so I’ll keep trying to allocate a consistent time to stream, even if that means less programming than I’ve cranked out in the past. We’re also looking into how to source additional content for our Twitch and YouTube channels, and while it may take some time for those plans to come to fruition, rest assured that we’re working on it. We love that TSSZ+ has been a place for fans and community members to have fun together over the past few years, and we want to keep it that way. We appreciate your sticking with us, and we’ll do our best to make it all worth your while!
