Sega, CSK to Build Mega Server Center
$50 Million will be spent to build a four thousand server center in Japan. A server facility in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district will be tripled, going from its 800 current servers to 4,000, and an output doubled to 600 megabits per second. The ten thousand story space, with seven storied to boot, will become a central data center.
However, only one-third of the building will be used by Sega and company, with the other two thirds being rented to other companies, a smart strategy to pay the bills. With this, it looks like Sega will be strengthening its online aspects further.
