PSO2 Open Beta Begins Next Week

The closed beta test of Phantasy Star Online 2 in the West was met with much fanfare, followed by frustration when servers immediately crashed the first night of play.

It looks like lessons have been learned from that stress test, and so on Monday, the localization team behind PSO2 announced an open beta test beginning next week.

No information beyond the Tweet above was shared, but given that the 17th is a Tuesday, the soft launch timing may indicate an extended test of the servers to see if players spread out on weeknights. We’ll relay details here as we get them.
