Jurgen Post Leaves Sega Europe

Jurgen Post, a ten year veteran of Sega Europe, has left his post as President and COO.

Post had been in his role for five of those ten years, acting as senior VP and managing director prior, according to MCV.

Sega West CEO Tatsuyuki Miyazaki lamented the departure as a “huge loss,” though praised Post for leaving the European division “in a fantastic position.”

On Wednesday, Post afforded his final industry interview to GamesIndustry.biz, in which he reflected on his time transforming Sega Europe into a more successful publisher:

You need to get the first part right. You need to get the game right, then you get the studio, then it filters down to the publisher. If you have a lot of successful studios underneath a successful publisher, then the Sega brand will come back and start to flourish again. That is my firm belief.

I am leaving the company in a time where the future is looking bright, profitable, stable and hopefully Sega can just continue to build on the success that we are having right now. And I believe they can.

Sega Europe CFO John Ward will act as interim COO until a permanent successor is named.
