Cheat Cheat Rocket?
More DCTP Forumers are posting about these potential cheating problems:
SmiggyG: I dunno how it works but I’ve heard that that “Cat cheat” will give the cheater immunity from Cats, however after 1 round the game will be disconnected. The cheater does NOT get a win but the losers all get a loss. That’s all I’ve heard about it.
Dean: I’ve witnessed this and I was peeved to see that my efforts in drawing Cats towards my opponent were in vain. The first time I was stunned and asked my brother if he was seeing the same thing I was seeing…
I can’t remember if the game then stopped or what.
For something like CHU2, I don’t think it’s a big deal, but I hope that Sega uses it as a learning experience to prevent similar problem occurring with other games.
And finally, Lazy8s: I’ve seen it happen on many occasions, and it ruins the game for me most of the time. When they stop their rocket from taking damage from cats, they also can’t collect any mice during the duration. It obviously doesn’t balance out, though, as it’s extremely hard to beat someone who’s immune to cat damage. Unfortunately, when I play some of the “top players”, I’ve found that quite a few use this cheat against me. The cheat does seem to be involved with their connection in some way and not executable with a code or anything, but I don’t know how to do it and have no desire to learn this pathetic tactic.
ORIGINAL STORY 3/23: Look at this: Schwa of the DCTP posted this bit of information this evening:
According to some folks on the ChuChu chat room today, indeed there is some cheat that will remove Cat Damage. I certainly don’t want ‘t to know what it is…the temptation would be hard to resist.
On the other hand, if there were a ‘disable cheats’ mode, or if it applied to all players equally, it could be kind of cool (a la NFL Blitz’s codes).
Another forumer claims beta versions of GameShark are out in other countries (ie NOT US), so this could be another concern. We’ll keep you posted.
