This comic is very long and needed some ‘special’ details which, combined with organising the renewal of KK.Com meant that the comic took waaaay longer than intended.
The comic was inspired by the reaction to the fanbase of the undignified axing of Ryan Drummond (Sonic) and the other voice artists from the Adventure series of games to Sonic Heroes by SEGA (the V.Os from Sonic X are now to be used). The rabid response of the fanbase at this (on TSS) is parodied in this particular comic.
Hence ‘Saving Private (Ryan) Drummond’
Satire baby, satire… Alzari has many stories relating to Godzilla and various street vendors.
The irony with this comic is that the ‘voices’ have changed as this is the first comic to use the comic style speech font as the standard font of Arial.
Angelus remarks he thought this comic was a ‘storyline’ one as it seems to pick up from the end of the last Sonic/Amy/Redux Rabble comic #015: ‘The Alleged Legend of Angelus’.
Another one of AAUK’s many WWE references in SW – the Master Hand makes reference to Carlito Caribbean Cool. Carlito was forever judging people on ‘coolness’ and always carries an apple.
The apple was drawn freehand.
There are at least 10 new sprite edits for Sonic in this comic. A third of the entire presentation.
AAUK hates the bits in Orangina.
Amy has two sprite edits and Frost one.
This comic contains the first – to my knowledge – Master Hand sprite edit. Which is the hand pointing with a single finger.
“The Future’s Bright, The Future’s Orange” is the slogan of the Orange mobile phone company.
Did you notice Amy lose her voice all of a sudden?
What Alzari is holding in his hand is the traditional UK form when you are axed from your job: the dreaded so called ‘Pink Slip’.
The Chris sprite is Mega Man edit.
AAUK refuses point blank to do a whole sheet of them.
The ‘zoomed out’ night scene had the characters at 30% their base size.
Traditionally sprites on SW are increased in size to 120%. With the exceptions of the Master Hand (0%) and Rouge (150%).
The palm tree leaves are drawn on. As is the non-red elements of the fire.
The final sequence is a parody of the anime ‘Excel Saga’.
The Episode 21 and ‘Today’s Experiment…’ sections are screencaps.
Dreadknux of TSS did indeed approve the draft script of this comic. As AAUK sent him it to combat his frustration with the TSS users FURY!!!!
