Fan Fridays: Cristian Castro
Someday, I’ll figure out that these posts are supposed to go up on Friday.
Anyway, we’ve got something really cool for you this week. It’s not uncommon to see a Sonic character or enemy come to life in the form of an action figure or clay figurine, but how about a massive steel robot? That’s exactly what industrial designer Cristian Castro has done, and the end result is pretty stunning. The robot, which he calls the Egg-771, comes in at a staggering 12 feet wide by 7 feet long. It’s made out of recycled materials, fiberglass, steel, and even part of a Volkswagen, and it’s obvious that a lot of effort went into making it.
If you can somehow scrape $200,000 together, the Egg-771 can be all yours. Otherwise, the pictures below will have to suffice. We thank Casey over at GamersHeroes for bringing Cristian’s epic creation to our attention. As always, if you have a Sonic-related project you want the world to know about, send us a link at fansonfriday@tssznews.com!
