What is “Sonyc?”
What is this never before seen Sonic game that TSSZ has managed to find from the depths of the Internet? Is it an unreleased ROM? Is it a fan game? Will you have the chance to play it.

From what we can tell, the game is called Sonyc, and it was developed by Elvis Gallegos and Manuel Pazos, from Spain. The actual game is for the MSX2 system. The MSX was a computer series released by Matsushita and Sony in the middle 1980s at first for Japanese audiences. (We don’t know if it ever landed on domestic shores.)
The environment was in Basic, but because the MSX2 had a 3 1/2 floppy drive, you could boot up DOS 3 if you wanted. The system was very popular in areas of Europe and South America, and that’s why there are a number of fan sites dedicated to the MSX series. MSX2 had 2 cart slots as well, and Sega did port various titles, such as Out Run, to the MSX series.

Right now, this appears to be only a fan work, but the Sonic Scene is right now trying to decipher this page, in Spanish, to bring you more information. Be sure to check back as we compile more facts on this new and rather uncharted territory in Sonic fan games, first at TSSZ.
