SAGE 2014 Overview: Sonic Overture

A fan made prequel to the original Sonic series is on display for the second half of the 2014 Sonic Amateur Games Expo.

Sonic Overture, the product of Jassbec, starts out on Christmas Island, Sonic’s birthplace. The journey through South Island includes many tossed ideas in the official Sonic revived:

This game plays on the scrapped prototype material of Sonic the Hedgehog, such as canned designs and unused level imagery. All of the art is original, excluding certain fundamental features like Sonic, which are edits. The game also features an original soundtrack.
