ASR: DLC Coming "Sooner Than You Expect"
If you’ve already had enough of the current character roster in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and you own a PS3 or XBOX 360, you may want to set aside some money shortly for DLC purchases.
Steve Lycett, returning from a Microsoft developer conference in London, affirmed this morning that DLC will soon be on its way to online stores like PSN and XBOX Live.
But he doesn’t want to give away what’s in store–only that he’s played at least pieces of it.
You’ll hear more about DLC very soon. I don’t want to steal SEGA’s thunder on this. But you’ll be seeing some sooner than you expect – and it’s AWESOME. I’ve just played it.
Lycett also hinted that persistent framerate concerns, which apparently did ship with the final editions of ASR, may be tweaked some to coincide with the DLC launch.
“We’re still tweaking with the engine,” he continued, noting that a patch is already available for XBOX360.
So, chiming in to fuel the fire is Sega Europe community manager Kevin Eva, who just posted within the hour a teaser picture of concept art with the line “Picture if you Will.” It’s vague, so it appears something exciting may be in the cards. We’ll keep you informed.
