Depository Updates – 7th-8th November 2012

Over the last couple of days a number of changes and updates have gone up in the Depository, the majority of this has been to try and give you a much better experience and fix a lot of graphical glitches and bugs left over from the upgrade to the current version of the website.

The biggest update has been to your favourite section, the Official Art section which has been given all the released Character Art for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.  As you might imagine the majority of this has found its way into the Miscellaneous section whilst Amy, Eggman, Knuckles, Shadow, Sonic and Tails were added to their own individual pages. Most of these got a bit of a fix-up too.  The only arts that weren’t added were those of NiGHTS and Reala.  This is principally because for some reason best known to themselves SEGA have recycled the art from Journey Of Dreams.

The second big updates is to the Videos section where the Sonic Generations page now resides at last and you can watch all the cutscenes from the game as well as find links to all the trailers.  You can expect more video pages to  be added here as the cutscenes and other archive footage goes up on our YouTube account.

This is not to be confused with a “Big update”, such as the latest Big The Cat SA1 cutscene.

Among the fixes includes another large selection of screenshots added back to the site after the loss of the Gallery system with the crash earlier in the year, this is actually quite a tedious thing to do so my brain naturally has tried to erase this job from the list of things to do. However it’s now 66% done with the remainder to be completed over the next two days.  Full archives of screenshots have been returned for the following titles.

  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed – which will be updated soon with more screens.
  • Sonic Adventure
  • Sonic Chronicles
  • Sonic Battle
  • Sonic Free Riders
  • Sonic Classic Collection
  • Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

Let’s Plays coming your way soon include Turbo’s play through of Golden Axe: Beast Rider and the commencement of the live Let’s Play of Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, inspired by a request from FindTheComputerRoom. Their hunt for the old Sonic Chronicles videos has led us to upload a lot of them over on our YouTube since they include Developer Diaries which you’ve probably never seen. We’ll probably do this full media presentation of the games video history with all the Let’s Play’s in the future. As such check out the most recent GA:BR and SC:TDB videos to go live below, Chronicles will get a full media page in the Depository very soon.
