Richard Jacques Work Receives G.A.N.G Nominations

The game might not have set the world alight, which probably comes when you set two studios doing two James Bond titles against each other in a highly STUPID move but Sonic favourite Richard Jacques’ critically acclaimed work on James Bond 007: Blood Stone has gained. Er… some more critical acclaim!

The Los Angeles based Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) which is dedicated to the advancement and recognition of game audio and is linked with among others Tommy Tallarico, cited Jacques’ work in the nominations for it’s ninth annual awards. Blood Stone, which we ourselves highlighted a while back picked up nominations in Music Of The Year, Best Interactive Score and Best Original Instrumental for “Athens Harbour Chase”. Another Jacques work – the music for Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, also received a nomination in the Best Original Vocal (Choral) category for “Alice’s Theme”.

Tallarico said of G.A.N.G reaching its ninth birthday: “I hate to sound redundant, but each and every year the quality and workmanship of the industry continues to soar higher and higher. The level of quality continues to be outstanding and each of these nominees is a unique and wonderful creation and incredible piece of art for the entire industry to be proud of.”

The awards ceremony is due to take place March 3rd as part of GDC in San Franscisco. The full listings are below, what do you think of the nominations?
